What are the dates of the Fair?

How do I get to the Josephine County Fair?

  • Located off of Interstate 5 in Southern Oregon, Grants Pass is situated off exits 55 from the south and 58 from the north. The Fairgrounds is located at 1451 Redwood Hwy. Follow signs toward Redwood Highway/Oregon Coast.
  • By Air: The closest international airport to Grants Pass is in Medford, Oregon. The Rogue Valley International Airport (MFR) is just a 30 minute drive to Grants Pass from Medford. Grants Pass has a small airport located in Merlin and is used for helicopters and small private aircraft only.
  • By Bus: Greyhound bus has a station in Grants Pass. Their address is 460 NE Agness Ave. Their phone number is 541.476.4513. The local community bus service in Grants Pass is operated by Josephine Community Transit.  Their phone number is 541.474.5452.

How much does it cost to attend the Fair?

General Fair Admission: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

$10 - Adults

$8 - Seniors 62+, Veterans (military ID required)

$6 - Youth 6-12

Children under 5 Free

THURSDAY~FAMILY DAY Adults $6, Youth 6-12 $3, Children under 5 Free

Parking - $6

What does the carnival cost?

Single Tickets available during fair at Carnival tickets booths. Rides take 2-6 Tickets per ride.

Carnival Armbands

Pre-Sale from July 1-August 14th $25 all day rides/for one day/any day

During Fair August 15 -18 $30 all day rides/for one day/any day

Are pets allowed at the Fair?
No pets are allowed on the Fairgrounds with the exception of Service Dogs NOT companion/Emotional Support dogs.

Can I rent strollers or wheelchairs?

At the Duck Derby Booth in front and to the right of the main entrance of the Commercial Building. Next to the KAJO/KLDR Radio Booth. We have a limited number of wheel chairs and strollers.

Do you take checks or credit cards at the gate or carnival?

The Carnival is Cash Only

The Grandstand Entrance only will take credit cards or cash, NO checks
The Josephine County Fair office accepts all forms or payment Cash, Debit, Checks, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted. Office hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:00 only, not Saturday. ATM machines are also located at the front of the office, in the grandstands, and outside the Arts & Crafts Building.

What are the hours of operation for the Fair?

How tall do you have to be to ride the Carnival rides?

Major Rides Must be over 42” - 48" tall. Some 30" with adult.** Some Rides Must be 48" to Ride Alone
There are several height limits. Many rides are available for people more than 42 inches tall BUT most of the rides that involve extreme movement such as spinning or going upside down are limited to people 48 inches tall and taller.
In general, children under 36 inches can't ride anything but the carousel (with an adult) or the Kiddie Rides (can ride alone).

If you aren't sure, the best thing to do before buying wrist-bands is to walk around and look at the rides you or your children want to ride and see if it is possible.

Where can I park?

Public parking is available in the YMCA/FAIR PARKING PRICE as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club: ..........................$6

Handicap Parking behind the Grandstands:............................................................$6

Are people movers available to and from parking lots?

Yes there will be people movers from the parking lot and several golf cart drivers will be making rounds to and from the gates.

What are the discount days for the Josephine County Fair?
Thursday is Family Day All Adults $6, Youth 6-12 $3, 5 and under free

Seniors and Veterans (ID Required) $8

How do I buy the Carnival Ride Bands for rides?

Pre-Sale Arm bands will be available here in the office Mon-Fri 9-5.
Also, during business hours at The Chamber of Commerce---Baskin and Robbins---Oregon Book Store.
You can buy them at the Box Office during Fair.

Where is the handicap-access parking?
Handicap access to the Fairgrounds is available from designated parking areas Behind the Grandstands. Golf cart drivers will be available to bring people on into the fair.

Can I bring food or drinks into the Fair?
No, outside food or drink are not allowed. No coolers are allowed. Exceptions are made for medical conditions.

Can I smoke on the fairgrounds?
Smoking of any sort is prohibited in buildings per state law. Smoking includes e-cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, joints, cigarettes, pipes, cigars etc. There will be a couple of designated smoking areas, one will be in the grassy area outside behind the Commercial Building and one will be down by the Beer booth near the arena. These will be clearly marked
Please note, consumption of cannabis in any form in public is illegal and not allowed on the Fairgrounds.

Is there anywhere to charge my cell phone on the grounds?

Sorry, not at this time

What other rules are there for the Fairgrounds?

  • No coolers will be allowed.
  • No knives, guns or objects to be construed as weapons will be allowed.

We have these rules to make sure everyone has a safe and fun time.
